Connect Therapy
Here's how we can bring balance back to your life
Connecting our Minds & Body
HAVE YOU TRIED OTHER TREATMENTS BUT FOUND THAT YOUR PROBLEM KEEPS RECURRING OR THAT YOU ARE CHASING PAIN AROUND YOUR BODY?
Understanding that the whole body is connected allows us to perform a more logical and considered approach to finding the area of your body (the driver) that is the underlying cause of your symptoms.
Often the area of the body that you feel pain is not necessarily the driver of your symptoms. For example your knee may be painful but the hip or foot may be the cause or contributor to your symptoms, especially as there are many common structures that influence these regions. Treating the knee may give some temporary relief but unless the driver is addressed, the problem is likely to recur.
Using meaningful task or movement analysis to find the driver allows our Physio's to understand how your problem impacts your ability to function in your everyday activities. This whole body assessment takes an hour of your time. Subsequent treatment often involves hands on techniques applied to muscles and joints to dampen muscle tension or change poor movement strategies. This is followed by retraining your brain to improve the way you control movement, during activities of everyday life and sport.
The Thoracic Ring Approach™ is a component of Connect Therapy that challenges long-held beliefs around the function of the thoracic spine (trunk/torso) and ribcage, and proposes innovative assessment and treatment frameworks based on a broader understanding of how these areas are designed to optimally function… in the context of whole body movement and optimal health of the whole person.
Connect Therapy and The Thoracic Ring Approach™ was developed by LJLI founder, Dr. Linda-Joy (LJ) Lee. More information on this form of treatment can be found here.
