Not sure which appointment to book? Here's a quick guide to help you choose.

    INITIAL ASSESSMENT — 45 minutes
This is the right starting point for most people. Book this if you have an acute, sub-acute, or chronic injury or pain that needs treatment.

    STANDARD APPOINTMENT — 30–45 minutes

This is your follow-up appointment after your first visit. Your physio will let you know how long you'll need based on your ongoing treatment plan.

    EXTENDED ASSESSMENT — 60 minutes
Choose this instead if any of the following apply to you:

    • Your pain or injury has lasted longer than 1 month
    • It affects more than one area of your body
    • It feels complex, or you're not sure what's causing it
    • You've had treatment for it elsewhere in the past
    • Vertigo and dizziness initial appointments

The extra time allows your physiotherapist to take a thorough history and properly assess what's going on before recommending treatment.

What to expect at your assessment:
We'll start with a conversation — your medical and injury history, anything you've tried before, and a few short questionnaires about your pain or how it's affecting you day to day. With your consent, your physio may also take photos or video to help track your posture or movement over time.

From there, your physio will carry out a physical examination. This may include checking your muscles, posture, movement patterns, and specific tests to help identify what's driving your pain. You may be asked to undress for parts of the assessment — please wear comfortable clothing, and let your physio know if you'd prefer not to at any point.

Together, you'll review what's been found and build a plan that works for you. This might include hands-on treatment, a tailored exercise program, Pilates or group classes, a referral to a specialist via your GP, or a combination of these.

GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP) can now be processed on site with HICAPS. Please note that a co-payment will be required for GPCCMP appointments.

HICAPS Health Fund rebates available on Physiotherapy, Hydrotherapy and massage services dependent on health fund.

    LATE NOTICE FEE

Before your appointment, you will receive a text confirmation. Please respond promptly to give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule. This helps us offer the appointment slot to someone else in need.

If you reschedule or miss your appointment with less than 24 hours notice, the full appointment fee will apply. However, if you pay on the day, we will reduce the late notice fee by 50%.

We understand that life sometimes gets in the way of scheduled appointment times, and we do take special circumstances into consideration. If you are having difficulty committing to your scheduled treatment plan, please talk to us. We are here to help and can work with you to find a solution.

For accounts paid by an insurer, such as Workers Compensation or MAIB, you will be responsible for the late notice fee. We cannot recover these costs from the insurance companies.

  • Preferred Provider

    Section image

    **Please note**

We don’t participate in the "preferred provider" scheme promoted by private health insurers.

While going to a preferred provider might seem appealing, it doesn't guarantee better care. Preferred Providers have adjusted their fees to fit specific health insurers, which can compromise the length and quality of consultations.

Choosing a preferred provider means you might pay less upfront per appointment, but you could run out of your physiotherapy cover faster. The overall limit doesn’t change, just the initial amount covered by the health fund.

Our goal is to consistently provide you with the best quality physiotherapy treatment to achieve your goals.
